A short update on my whole tank. Enjoy!

My Eshopps protein skimmer is here! This little guy is a beast, both in structure and performance! I had it in my sump at first, but the dang thing was just too tall, so I had to hang it on the display tank. I didn’t like it at first but after seeing how easy it was to remove the skimmate cup from the top, I decided it wasn’t so bad. I cleaned up my sump a little and moved things around. I also added a bunch of bioballs to the first chamber of my sump. I have heard mixed reviews about them but I am going to give them a shot. They also help with backsplash from the drain line. Everything is going great, just waiting for the system to break in completely. I also got a bunch more activated carbon and another backup MaxiJet incase mine bites the dust. I also didn’t mention I got a powerhead from my lfs. It is just a cheaper model, because in the long run I would love to get two Vortech MP-10 wireless powerheads. Those things are out of this world!
Got my JBJ ATO System in the mail! This thing is great, equipped with two float switches, one to read water level, and one as a safegard in case the sump gets too full. I fully recommend this to anybody, especially anyone with a protein skimmer.
I got my sump! Sump tank was purchased from my LFS. I had the glass baffles cut from my local plate glass company. I have some sponges in there. The baffles are moveable, which is really awesome. I gotta get it set how I want it and move some wires and such to try and clean up the area.
Installed my Pf Nano overflow, and got my American DJ PC4 Power Strips in the mail. Haven’t mounted them yet, but the overflow is installed, just waiting for my sump and baffles to be done.
I went to a frag swap at ABC reefs in Syracuse. It was TOTALLY awesome, there was so much stuff to buy and trade, so exciting. Here are just some of the frags that I got there, I got about 10 in total. There was so much other stuff, but I didn’t want to get too much and have no place to put it. I am currently searching for a frag rack.
Some good updates. I got a couple things done, and my PF Nano overflow came in the mail. I am using a maxijet 1100 pump for my return and I got that as well. I spotted some aiptasia in my tank so I rigged up a Kalk/Lemon Juice solution and killed them off =D
